Youth Retreat: "More than Friends"
It was a great experience for me. I learned a lot, I met new people, and I led a small group by myself! =) Pastor Preston was a great encouragement and blessing. God used him to speak words which our youth group needed to hear and which I needed to hear. Pastor Paul's sermon was also inspiring. He stressed the importance of community in the church using verses in every book from the new testement. I felt kinda guilty cause I haven't opened to some of the books in years like the book of Philemon. One of the verses I liked was Hebrews something. I actually knew it by memory, "and let us consider how we may spur one another in love and good deeds. let us not give up meeting each other, as some are in habit of doing, but let us encourgae one another and all the more as you see the day approaching." (something like that).
ALL IN ALL, the small groups were great, the food was amazing, the bathrooms were awesome, the gym was sweet, mafia was fun, the praise was rockin, the sermons were inspiring, the basement was entertaining, the skits were funny, the testimonies were astounding, the clementines were fulfilling, and the bus rides were sleepy.
Mosaic Retreat: "Kingdom people pursuing kingdom purpose"Simply amazing. I met a lot [a LOT] of people. The semons were good and the praise was cool. But honestly, the only things I really got out of the retreat were friendships. And I'm really glad for that. I've experienced so much bonding between everyone--mosiac & beloved, young and old. The small groups were amazing. They were on a huge [hugely huge] personal level. Everyone was intimate and shared deep things, none which I've experienced during the youth group. I really [really really] liked how each small group went up in the end and each person shared a short testimony. Mine was stupid- I don't know why people laughed. Actually, I guess that's the reason why people laughed. I'm sure things will be different next Sunday when we all meet again, a better different.
Playing mafia was fun. I think mafia was a way to break the ice with people. I don't think I would've gotten to know some people [just a little bit better] if I haven't played mafia with them--like Jane, nulee, annie, and patty. I went swimming. I Lost a bet against Edison twice. Darn you Joey haha. (nothing came out of it though, just a funny story) The three of us talked [while shivering] in the pool for about an hour. It was intimate. I got to know them a lot [a WHOLE lot] (I also drove up with them in the car). Watching the sun rise was cold, but cool. I was glad that everyone who was there, was there. After that, it was more intimate talk with joey until the morning service. I've also experienced the worst leg muscle burn in my [entire] life. So I realized that I should work out, not be indifferent about my body, and attempt to look attractive. haha funny!
All in all...
In my opinion, the hotel food was surprisingly not as good as camp pinnacle's food, but the meal times were good. Swimming would've been more fun with more people, but the intimacy was good. Pool, air hokey, and foosball (fuseball? fussball?) were fun. The beds were amazing--great for passing out. Mafia was, again, really fun. Sermons and praise were good. Everyone at the retreat was great. Hiking was... interesting HAHA =). Sun rise at the beach was fun. The retreat... was good [times amazing to the power of awesome].

2009 is here. I am glad.
I don't really have a resolution list. I just hope to be a more loving person, someone who will be more than just facebook friends with people. I hope my new and improving friendships will be centered on Christ. I'm not sure what that means or how to have those kind of friendships, but I also hope to learn that this year. Especially with the people who are reading this, so tell me if you did! thanks =)
I have a [kinda personal] prayer request: To keep my obbsessions aside, and look toward God. To seek God more. To love God before anyone else. To love him first. To have a [more intimate] relationship with him before anyone else. And that I will keep this promise. Thanks!
I'm starting to use brackets [very] often. It's fun.
I haven't touched my guitar in over a week and I really miss it. So I'm gonna cut my nails and play my heart out.
Thanks for reading and Happy 2009! God bless, peoples. I hope we can be "more than friends."
